Young Katarina (Oscar-winner Alicia Vikander, The Danish Girl, Ex Machina) hates her job and worries that she may end up like her mother, Birgitta, who is drinking herself to death. Finding her only solace in music, Katarina talks her way into a job as a receptionist in the offices of the Gothenburg Symphony. Although she lives with her layabout boyfriend, Mattias (Martin Wallstrom, Mr. Robot), she nonetheless finds herself entering into an affair with the symphony's conductor, who is married and much older.

Winner of Best Actress (Alicia Vikander) and Best Screenplay at the Guldbagge Awards. Winner of Honorable Mention for Best International Film at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival.
